Tomorrow marks the 20th anniversary of the registration of ‘Furen Lake and Shunkokutai’ as a Ramsar Convention wetland.
The environment has changed significantly due to land subsidence and the accompanying storms and storm surges.
The movements and numbers of wild birds have also changed due to these shifts and changes in surrounding industries.
Today, we observed Asian Rosy Finch, Steller's Eagles, and Whooper Swans.

Searched for Bean Goose in the pastures and cut fields of dent corn around Lake Furen.
Initially confirmed over 250 birds, but more and more flew in as time passed,
eventually reaching a total of 1,249 birds.
They all took flight toward their roost around sunset.
